Some of you were probably thinking "has le_sloth been up the mountain at allrecently?". Well, no unfortunately. Just the once this season. Shocking. Notbeen much in the way of fresh for a few weeks and can't justify the 1.5-2hour trip out there.BUT...As soon as this big storm clears over here in NZ, I'm heading up. Mostplaces are closed today due to high winds and blocked roads. Think I'm goingto Mt Hutt 2moro (they had 60cm fresh yesterday) and Mt Olympus for theweekend (50cm+ fresh)...will post back on here when I'm done

Still snowing heavily everywhere in Canty with another 30cm expected today. At last!
[Update: It might be Porters tomorrow...
"45cm of new snow in the car park from last night and today with nearly
one meter on the upper mountain
. Big wind drifts on the access road
We need to wait until it stops snowing and blowing and until the clouds
lift before we can clear the road and proceed with avalanche control
work"
Hutt:
"We are CLOSED due to heavy snow overnight blocking access to the
mountain!! We have received 88cm of NEW SNOW since yesterday morning
with very large pockets of wind drifted snow due to strong winds
overnight. The forecast is for it to continue snowing throughout the
day with winds easing in the afternoon. The mountain weill require
extensive work before we can re-open the lifts."
