Here he is...

Hi y'all, Dan Black here reporting in from Stateside. Had a farming start to the week with 20cm of fresh on day one with a further helping from Mr Dumpy on day two.  I have never experienced powder like this, light fluffy champagne stuff everywhere. Needed to upgrade to the no.2 snorkel for the deep stuff in the bowls.

Highlights so far:

  • Day 1, 2 and some of 3 powder missions wherever you like.
  • Day three / four powder was becoming more difficult to find fresh tracks so off to the park for some jumps and spins

  • Clumsy skier whilst having lunch today, took nearly 5 mins and 2 helpers to untangle him:
Skier Parking  (This dude was similar looking to PZ, "albite" clearly a schoolboy error PZ would not be party to)!!

Likes:

  1. Awesome conditions
  2. More dumpy on Saturday
  3. Tree runs everywhere
  4. Riding the big american schoolbus each day for resort transport
  5. Wireless t'internet wherever you go

Dislikes:

  1. "have a nice day"
  2. Moguls - they love them over here!
  3. "have a nice day"
  4. lazy fat yanks - won't walk anywhere
  5. No monoboarding - it's just not the same without Monsieur Mono

PS Sloth, I'm not sure you have managed to close out the bacon story yet, nice try though!!

Funny, without having been to the US and A, those are exactly the things I imagined I'd like and dislike. Le Mono is truly becoming a rare beast, having spotted none in Japan either.

Anyone else going on a big trip this year? Russia? (no she took her time)

Yes sir-ee Winter Park assumption is a correct one. Read a few forums on the place before we came out as only booked it the Tuesday before departure. 50/50 concensus on goneboarding so was a bit concerned but the place is fantastic, mind you we have been spoiled with the conditions.
